The ACT Women’s Health Service
The Women’s Health Service offers free services for women by women, including: nursing, medical, nutrition and counselling services to vulnerable women in the ACT and region. For more information, please click here .
- To talk with a counsellor you can call 5124 1787 from 1pm to 3pm, Monday to Friday.
- To make a referral for an appointment with a nurse you can call 5124 1787 from 9am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
In response to COVID-19, the Women’s Health Service is offering counselling and nursing care using telehealth, phone counselling and limited face to face counselling to women who have no symptoms of cold or flu.
Community Health Centres
Canberra Health Services has a few community health centres across the ACT that provide a range of general and specialist health services to people of all ages. Click here to find out the locations of the Community Health Centres.
To book an appointment for a community health service, please call 02 5124 9977. (8:00am - 5:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and from 8:00am - 3:30pm on Wednesdays)
Walk-in Centres offer free health care for non-life threatening injuries and illnesses. They are located at the Community Health Centres in Belconnen, Dickson, Gungahlin, Tuggeranong, and Weston Creek. If you have complex health conditions or children under 2 years, please visit your GP for advice. To find out more information about the Walk-in Centres, please click here .
Opening hours are from 7.30am to 10pm daily, including public holidays. No appointment is needed. Details about the locations of the Walk-in Centres can be found here .
Due to COVID-19, when attending a Walk-in Centre for treatment you should attend on your own where possible. If you do require a support person or are accompanying a child it is requested that you attend with only one other person.
